The rate of unwanted pregnancy seems to be on the rise, even with the constant preaching of ABSTINENCE

The poor level of sex education has resulted in so many problems and one of them is the issue of unwanted pregnancy.

To avoid misunderstanding even married people face the same issue.

If you don’t want it, it is unwanted.

Check out these 3 simple ways to prevent unwanted pregnancy.

1)      CONTRACEPTIVES

People often think they are smart and depend on their ‘pull out’ game, which doesn’t always work.

You won’t be lucky every day, so why not give yourself a teeny-weeny peace of mind and use protection.

Contraceptives are one of the most efficient ways to avoid pregnancies.

 Contraceptives include

–        long-acting reversible contraception, such as the implant or intrauterine device (IUD)

–         hormonal contraceptives such as the pill or the Depo Provera injection.

–        barrier methods, such as condoms

For people who complain of condoms been inconvenient and hurting them during sex, it is best to try various brands and opt for the brand that is most efficient.

There are male and female condoms as there are male and female contraceptives

Condoms although run the risk of breaking and pregnancies have been said to happen even with people who were on the pill.

–  Morning After Pill

The morning after pill is a type of Emergency Contraceptive, it is used after unprotected sex to reduce drastically the possibility of pregnancy.

Its effect depends on how soon it is taken after the said sex.

They work best when taken within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex, but can be taken up to 5 days after.

The sooner they are taken the better they work.

Generally, Contraceptives are not 100% effective

2)     KNOW YOUR CYCLE

There’s no safe time of the month that has zero pregnancy risks.

Although some times are riskier than others- those are the fertile days when conception is more likely to happen

The menstrual cycle begins on the first day of the period and continues up to the first day of the next period.

Fertility is at its peak during ovulation when the ovaries release an egg.

Ovulation usually occurs 12 to 14 days before the next period starts.

This is the time of the month when pregnancy is most likely to happen.

Trickily most women are extra horny and sexually appealing during this period.

So STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING SEX DURING OVULATION!!!!

It is helpful to get a period or menstrual cycle app to help with the calculation, but it cannot be depended on especially by women who have irregular periods!!!

What is equally tricky is that sperms can sometimes survive in the body for up to 7 days after sex.

Meaning that as long as there’s sperm somewhere in the body – pregnancy might just be on the way

3)     ‘Avoid WEATHER FOR TWO’

There’s a funny saying that goes, Weather for two, pregnancy for sure

Weather for two is a saying to measure cool weathers, where cuddling is often needed, hence leading to sex

Sex during such weathers are mostly uninhibited and caution is usually thrown in the bin.

Preventive measures are rarely observed, as all that is needed is the warmth of the other body to ease the cold of the weather.

It is in times like this people are blinded by lust and conception is likely to happen

So my dear, what do you do when you feel or hear weather for two?

Generally, the most certain way to prevent unwanted pregnancy is by abstaining.
