6 Foods That Can Cause Miscarriage In Early Pregnancy

  1. Pineapple

The presence of Bromelain in pineapple makes it one of the foods that cause miscarriage.

Pineapple consumption during pregnancy can cause contractions and may create a substance that can lead to miscarriage.

Make sure to keep pineapple out of your diet, especially during the first three months of pregnancy.

2. Undercooked Meat

Raw meat should be avoided.

They may contain a parasite named toxoplasmosis that can cause toxoplasmosis, which can lead to miscarriage.

Avoid eating foods such as sausages, minced meat, pepperoni, and salami.

 3. Soft cheese

Avoid soft cheeses during pregnancy because all soft cheese varieties, including Feta, Brie, Gorgonzola, soft goats, Roquefort, and Danish blue may contain Listeria bacteria.

Listeria bacterial infection can cause miscarriage and also increases the risk of premature birth and premature delivery.

You can eat any of these cheeses if they are cooked very well, such as cheeses in a fondue, fried or baked.

 4. Uncooked eggs / Raw Eggs

Eggs are a perfect source of nutrients vital for a healthy pregnancy.

However, you should avoid raw or uncooked eggs like lightly scrambled eggs, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, homemade mayonnaise, salad dressings, homemade ice cream, mousse, soufflé.

Any recipes with raw eggs should be avoided because they may contain salmonella.

Salmonella is a bacteria that can induce abdominal pain, diarrhea, poisoning, fever, and miscarriage.

5. Caffeine

Caffeine is a diuretic, which implies it assists in eliminate body fluids.

This can lead to water and calcium loss.

Too much caffeine can quickly increase the chances of miscarriage.

Research suggesting that when trying to conceive, both women and men should limit their caffeine intake. 

It is advised that you do not have more than 200 mg of caffeine per day during pregnancy.

6. Fish with mercury / Raw shellfish

Fish is generally a healthy food that is good for you and your baby, although pregnant women should say no to any fish or seafood that have high levels of mercury.

These include swordfish, shark, tuna, tilefish, crab, and mackerel.

Avoid raw shellfish, such as oysters, mussels, scallops, and clams, as they could be infected with deadly bacteria, viruses, or toxins.

Although cooking them very well will make them safer.
