Jay-Z and Beyonce are currently on tour and even as busy as they are, they still find time to help out people in need.
One of the recipients of their help is a homeless student named Khairi Perry who was given $100,000 by The Carters.
17-year-old Khairi Perry was awarded the $100,000 from the BeyGood and Shawn Carter Foundations. “It’s mind-boggling,” he told the publication. “All my focus is on graduating high school and getting into college and pursuing my dream. I was lost in the moment until my name was called.” Perry has spent the last four years bouncing between nomadic homeless life and places provided by those close to him. Most of the time has been spent living in motels, shelters, and with friends or family. “Currently, I’m living with friends,” he admitted. At one point, Perry and his family lived in a car.
“Even when I got older and started to understand my situation, I still didn’t ask questions because I figured no one could answer them,” Perry told a local newspaper. “I would try to find an answer myself. When that was a dead end, it was school and sports that were there for me.”
Thanks to Jay and Bey, he’s not homeless anymore.
