John Ighodaro, stage name, Johnny Drille is a Nigerian folk/alternative singer, songwriter and sound engineer from Edo state. He is a graduate of English and Literature in University of Benin. He started his music at an early age where he sings in his father’s church.
If you had ever listened to Johnny Drille’s songs, you would have mistaken the artistes for a foreign folk musician. But he’s a Nigerian who has come with his unique blend of sound and has remained consistent with his unique kind of music.
Though Johnny Drille started out with various kind of genres including hip-hop, highlife and afro pop but these genres didn’t work out for him, so he decided to stand out after he was inspired by Mumford and Sons, Owl City, Phillip Phillips, Jon Bellion, Laura Mvula, and our very own Cobhams Asuquo and others.
